I was checking out your site, as I am a descendant of the Stoners, Ebersoles, Cowens and Winebrenners who lived in that area. If there are any locals of those families who are into genealogy, maybe we could swap some information.

hello, my name is honey and i just found your site.. i am related to the Ritchey/Diehl families, not sure where, but maybe the Blackburn/Miller/Bowser branches
i inherited my mother's gene, it's mostly done but i'm adding some stories, bios and just learning who fits where.. it is addicting!!! my mom is dorothy rodgers, long time geneaologist.. we are from (those branches) bedford co, my grandmother was also born there.. she came to Phila when she married my pop-pop Benjamin Filmore Jumper
my mother spent summer's in Wimber visiting her grandmother Dorothea (Berkheimer) Claycomb.. i'm enjoying Morrison's Cove
this is a really nice site, good job! i'd love to contribute, that may not be for a long time, but, who knows! happy new year!

Martin Garrett has been collecting "Easter For Eli " baskets in memory of his son, Eli Garret who passed away almost 6 yrs. ago from cancer .Martin was very concerned when Warnaco shut down as these were the women who have helped him in the past to prepare these baskets , but so many people and business's both far and near have stepped up to help and Martin has almost 500 baskets now to deliver, which he plans to do so personally on Easter Sunday!!!!!

Thanks to everyone who worked to put this site together.
I have visited a few times looking for family information and was pleasantly surprised to find photos of my grandfather in 1915 and 1917.
Great site!

Wow, thank you to everyone responsible for this site. It is almost like being there in person.

This is what made me interested in your neighborhood. "Source: Envelope dated 1866 and sent to Hannah Manifold and a copy was mailed to me by Janet Springer on June 18, 2001.

States: Shaver Creek-Huntington Co. Penn.
John & Susan Sedonbough Sr. John Jr. lived in Indiana.
Henry-Christina, Elizabeth, Hannah Sedonbough Manifold.
John Sedonbough Sr. was burned in furnace, mother left Hannahs grandmother take her-she married-Jessie Manifold in Indiana at the age of 15 or 16 yrs.
Susan Second marriage to Chilcott 2 children to this union.

Those cryptic notes were the beginning of trying to find my 3rd great grandparents. Susanna was a Teeters born 1796 in the lower end of Huntingdon Co (have no idea where that might have been). died 1888 in Hopewell, Bedford Co. PA. Have precious little on her first husband John Sedenbaugh or Seedenburg. Do have Susanna's wonderful obituary.

The Cove is a warm and welcoming place with many happy memories for me. My father (Rex Beach) grew up there as did his parents. The Cove has changed quite a bit since I was a child, but I still feel welcome there.
Hey, remember Dog n Suds? Or Dar-Wil Dairy?

My genealogy research is on the Lindsey's/Lindsay's that settled in or around Cumberland Co in the 1750's. Land records from the PA archives, I have located survey book C112 pg 46 & 47 with a Samuel Lindsay in Morrison cove in 1769.
Your site list a number of links that look very interesting.

Great website...reminds me of the three trips I've made to the area in the past years. Can't wait until about a year from now when I'll be relocating to the Cove from Maine. Your website shows the beauty of the area. Keep up the good work

I moved away from the Cove in 1979 when I was a sophomore. Probably nobody remembers me anymore. I would love to hear from any old friends and classmates. My email is archers45@yahoo.com.
I currently live in Howland Maine and work in the local hospital here. I hope to reconnect with people. I have many fond memories of living there!
